We are seeing strange things and hearing strange things everyday in the country called Nigeria. It is the only place under these heaven where tyranny and recklessness walk in open pride and shameless show. It is the only spot on this earth where the slaves rule over the sons and plunder with impunity ceaselessly before the glare of the rising sun of the day and the depressed moon of the night. This country is a pure wonder to the nations who hold it in great derision from its inception. How do we get out of this saddening morass where we keep doing the same things over and over even when we seem to be getting the same appalling result time and time again? When shall we really awake from slumber O Nigerians? When shall we be once washed clean of all the filth that seems to effuse such decaying and offensive odor upon our conscience? When shall it once be said this is a wise and understanding people?
It is time Nigerians! It is now or never. We can no longer take one step forward and two steps backwards. The day is come and the sun of understanding is risen. It is the hour of redefining who we are. It is a new dispensation and we must rid ourselves of all the clog in the wheels of our motion as a people. We must clear the cobwebs out of our minds and we must begin to reason clearly. Poverty and ignorance are the two greatest diseases of the human race and Nigerians are not left out of it. While many nations and other societies have unshackled themselves by seizing the moment that was graciously offered by the heavens, Nigerians have remained in a state of comatose, desiring liberty at no price, mortgaging the future for present comforts.
It is time Nigerians, It is really now Nigerians or never again. It time to send a loud resounding message that the future is now in the making and the sour taste of the past can no longer be acceptable or considered in the light of the historical facts that is in the archives of our national consciousness.
Only the youths can take the future now and begin to write their own story. We are finished and done with the likes of Abubakar Atiku and Muhammadu Buhari or any of their generations in the future design of the nation we all would love to call Nigeria. I remember writing once and asking why Atiku could take his son's wedding to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and flew in all the invited guests to wash the land of the Arabs with our money, creating more jobs to the people who already had more than enough and spending millions of dollars in that singular senseless act all to tell Nigerians indirectly that the same country he aspired to rule in the future he does not believe in it. Who on earth who wants to rule his country would not first believe in his country and live it out before his people. Atiku Abubakar may have all the money in the world but he will NEVER rule Nigeria till the end of time. How much does Atiku love Nigeria? He simply loves nothing but his personal empire.
On the other hand , there are those who tell us that Muhammadu Buhari is a principled no nonsense anti-corruption personality. They should go and say that to the birds or follow what the bread and butter media in Nigeria makes them believe. Let us face it my friends, is Buhari a saint when it comes to corruption? Why are we so gullible and can not reflect and rationalize especially when we are misinformed and misled by a well oiled machinery of manipulation of masses by the same established order that has entrenched itself deep in every facet of the system and of our daily lives. They seem to tell us when to go to bed and when to wake up. They tell us who to believe and who not to believe. They divide and rule us to our own misery and their own glorious comfort right before our faces. They turn us against one another, one tribe against another, one religion against another. They never gave to Nigerians a model vision or platform upon which every one irrespective of their background or upbringing, education or connection can still be fulfilled in their dreams. They never gave us a land where dreams can be fulfilled but rather a place where dreams simply lose their wings if not that God Almighty graciously endued Nigerians with the most resilient degree of the human spirit.
Again let it written and let it be loudly declared that Buhari will NEVER rule Nigeria till the end of time.
It is hard to all his sympathizers and followers to read or hear such but it is the simple truth and it makes no apologies to anyone.
I am one of those who in the first one and half years of Goodluck Jonathan's administration was very vocal and critical of his style. I made no apologies to him or to his supporters until events began to unfold clearly. We must lay the foundations of future generations now that was never laid by any of those who ever ruled the country before. We had no foundations! We were hurriedly granted statehood at no price at all and with no nationhood framework! This is the plight of the greatest and most populous black nation on earth!
Now we are at the major crossroads having weathered many storms and crossed many treacherous paths. We have survived the evil mob. We made it somehow we know not how or why, but here we are. We are not going back again to the past of bondage, wars , misery, divisions and poverty. The misrule of the oligarchy, the establishment or the ruling elites became the breeding ground for corruption whereby every one was desperate to have a piece of the cake at all costs and by any means necessary.
Atiku was a beneficiary of the establishment and Buhari can never be made to look like a saint or the so-called messiah that will cleanse the stable! Enough of the deception and lies! Enough of the hypocritical mass of vision-less and philandering political class who have offered my people nothing but misery and woes.
Time for a new beginning has come. We can not put new wines into old wine-skins. New wine must be put into new wine-skins! This is the time for a new promise and this is the beginning of the long awaited future dreams of all Nigerians. We are not going to ever look back to past tyrants and crooks in new garbs. If we have not learned our lessons now then when shall it ever once be?
The Oracles are with us, not the oracles of bread and butter. The Oracles of the Living Spirit are with us!
Let us take a break for now .....
Shalom
