The experiences of simplicities!

Reflections:

Php 1:20-21
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Nothing is worth dying for in this world no matter what it may seem to be. No gold or silver can ever give that blessed and living hope that burns deeper than all earthly desires and passions. Nothing compares! Scars and wounds that may never heal in time but in eternity have we all acquired needlessly. I once desired and loved the most beautiful woman eyes can see but death took her away from me. I once had the most beautiful and sweetest daughter any man could wish for yet death took her away from me. I never thought I could recover though the scars and pains stubbornly still linger. In the midst of that, I took a trip to get out of it all but on my return my landlord had emptied my fully furnished apartment leaving me no pin. Whether the man and his wife sold or discarded or took them all to themselves only God knows.
I have been through the school of pain and grief. I have been through the valleys of the shadows of death. I have been through the terrible deep abyss of sorrow and agony. I have seen betrayal of kit and kin and friends and foes alike. I have wondered and wandered in the wilderness of loneliness and emptiness more than i could imagine. I have travailed to the point of wishing if only I could be spared seeing the sun rise the next day.
For me this is part of the mysteries and experiences of life on this side of eternity. For me this is the path that leads us away from the silhouette into the eternal realities. I can not hasten nothing and i can not slow the hand of the weaver or hold back the hand of the potter. He is designing and polishing us to fit into a glorious purpose beyond this life. How could I inherit the fulness of joy if I had never been acquainted with the depths of grief and sorrow? How could I know love if I never saw the fury of hatred and envy? Oh the list goes on and on and on.
Let us pause and reflect on another day...
I love you all who read this from my heart

AFRICA! ARISE AND AMAZE THOSE WHO GAZE AT YOU!

AFRICA: Your time is Now!

Africa shall overcome Ebola. Yes many have been wasted. The world does not care. Soon the nations will see the rise of this "dark" continent and shall be in awe. I love Africa. Why will I not love thee O Africa? You fed and nourished the nations with your natural resources. You are still the jewel of continents to me.
Arise Africa!
Amaze them who gaze at you!
Your time is now!

Zep 3:10
From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.

Africa your prayers shall heal the nations.
The Nations shall come to Africa for supplications that the nations of the earth might be healed!
In you Israel came for refuge!
In you the Messiah was protected and preserved!
In you the seed of Abraham found succor in the time of the holocaust!

Africa, arise and amaze them who gaze at you!
Your time is now!

Listen to the voice of your children calling!
From the tops of Kilimanjaro, Meru and Karisimbi
to the streams of the Nile,Congo, Limpopo and Zambezi
Echoes the heartbeat of the ones born in you!

Africa my Africa, you are the cradle and future of civilization
That which found its origin in you
Shall without fail find its consummation in thee!
Africa, Arise and amaze those who gaze at you
Your time is now!

OF FANCIFUL CLICHES!

Listen Saints, the mystery of iniquity is already in operation not just in the world but in the churches and ministries of this hour!
Believe this if you would, it is of the Lord that the people be swayed and deceived by the mystery of iniquity because they have no love of the truth!

2Thessalonians 2:7 - 12

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way............
......  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

This is the time to discern the truth and hearken to the voice of life from the Eternal Spirit. We must now discern the hour and the present condition of the church. Enough of the cliches and the rhetoric!!!

Seek the truth now!
Get out of religion now!!
Embrace eternal life in Christ now!!!

My Reflections!

My Reflections:
I do not understand how the saints feel when they go sending good wishes and even celebrating the feasts of Islam. What are we really thinking? What does Christ think of us? Have we not become partakers of the same idolatrous feasts and so betrayed our Lord who bought us with his own blood? How come the true feasts of the Lord we have turned away from and despised? Where in the world now are the true keepers of the Word of Truth and who are not seeking to be approved of this world? Why do we seek the friendship of the world while compromising and sacrificing the true vital and living faith which was once delivered to the saints of old? Are we now better than the saints of old or are we now the apostate and reprobate silver of this last times? Do we think by felicitating with those who serve strange and foreign gods we will win them over or receive their approval over the approval of the Lord?
We are gradually losing our salt and becoming more conformable to this world. We put a seal on their sacrifices and share in their bloody feasts of abominable idolatry? Let us turn and repent while it is still called today!
This are my reflections and they are of my very deep convictions with no apologies to any one or group whatsoever!

WHERE ARE THE FATHERS?

WHERE ARE THE FATHERS?
I remember sometime ago when the Lord began to speak to me about this fatherless generation, my heart really sank to think of it in the light given.
The men are ceasing to be men. There are no more fathers! They are just men who have no faintest idea of the Fatherhood of God that they must replicate on this earth. The men are to be protectors and defenders and preservers of each family unit there was. The men as fathers are to be priests of the home and upholders of the covenant relationship with God. The men as fathers are to be the first defense against any apostacy or falling away or rebellion that will bring ruin to the family. The men as fathers are to hold up the standards of morality in their family and in the society at large. The men as fathers are to learn the laws and statutes of Jehovah and to teach and communicate same to their families.

Gen 18:19
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

1Ch 28:9
And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

Where are the men today who the Father in heaven has trusted with the raising of their families and homes after the eternal pattern and ordinance? Where are the real and true fathers gone? Are they slain in the streets by drugs and alcohol? Have they been pierced by the arrows of whorish women that they are mortally wounded? Have they embraced strange and lewd desires and passions which have caused them to wander out of the way leaving the women and the children vulnerable and defenseless in the face of a wicked and diabolical adversary of the human race?

Why have the men abdicated their sacred and eternal duties as fathers in these dying generation? Where are the real fathers gone? Only real and true godly men can be fathers. Only those who understand the mystery of the Fatherhood of God can truly be fathers. I spoke to my congregation and said Adam taught Eve everything she knew. Adam taught Eve how to cook and tend the various crops in the garden with him. Adam transferred knowledge to Eve of all that was in creation. I have seen men make excuses why they can not cook. As a young little child I saw that my father was a better cook than my own mother and I saw as my mother struggled to cook and measure up to the high culinary standards of my father. I learned from my father and I learned very well that the man was created to have all knowledge to communicate to his family.  It was my father who taught me my first "Gentle Jesus, meek and mild" prayer. It was my father who never failed to take me by the hand to church every Sunday that instilled in me the spirit of devotion.

Men arise you are the fathers and custodians of the mystery of God. God called Adam. God called Noah. God called Abraham. God called Moses. God called Samuel. God called David. it was only in instances where the men failed to arise that the women are forced to fill the gap and oh how miserable is that gap barely filled. Why are there single mothers everywhere? Why are there children left to the harsh, cruel vicissitudes of life?

Where are the fathers to arise in this hour? Your knowledge of the Living Father is what will wake you to the realization of this truth. This is your manifest destiny as a man - FATHERHOOD!
Let the fathers come home! Let the fathers fill the hedge! Let the fathers defend their homes for the enemy and destroyer is lurking outside the door!
FATHERS ARISE!!!

Random on Marble!

I remember when the Lord spoke this words into my ears in Igbo
"Onye obula Jihova kpolitere, gwuzo gi de ya oto, anaghi ada ada"
To my global friends here is the interpretation
"Any one that Jehovah the Living God raises up and plants his feet to stand can never ever fall or fail"
As you enter this new season of life and you are covenanted with the Lord, no force or power whatsoever shall be able to pull you down or uproot you from your sure destiny and place.
You shall surely stand in your lot and no matter how long it takes your portion shall without fail come to you!
Shi ya nje!

"I have so much to do with my life and time that I am always persuaded that time waits for no one. Look behind you and you will see a generation fast on your heels telling you and me to do whatever we have to do and get out of the way for them."
Shi ya nje!

"This is what I know deep in my heart that time is uncompromising, unrelenting, unforgiving, and irreversible. Time just keep ticking and ticking and ticking. We can not call back or approach time with any petitions or supplications as to demand any understanding. We are bound to its ticking and ticking and ticking whether we like it or not, or whether we are ready, prepared and willing or not. Time just goes on and on and on. So make hays while the sun shines!"
Shi ya nje!

"Never wait for men and never chase after men. Cease running with men and desire to run with horses and chariots. Move to another gear, raise your standard and look away from the mediocre ones. Eternity is gradually unfolding and inching closer than we know and yet we are still a shadow of the real manifestations. The tables are going to be upturned and there is going to be a cessation of the status quo. Raise the standards now!"

NIGERIA: ATIKU OR BUHARI PRESIDENCY, THAT WHICH SHALL NEVER BE!

We are seeing strange things and hearing strange things everyday in the country called Nigeria. It is the only place under these heaven where tyranny and recklessness walk in open pride and shameless show. It is the only spot on this earth where the slaves rule over the sons and plunder with impunity ceaselessly before the glare of the rising sun of the day and the depressed moon of the night. This country is a pure wonder to the nations who hold it in great derision from its inception. How do we get out of this saddening morass where we keep doing the same things over and over even when we seem to be getting the same appalling result time and time again? When shall we really awake from slumber O Nigerians? When shall we be once washed clean of all the filth that seems to effuse such decaying and offensive odor upon our conscience? When shall it once be said this is a wise and understanding people?

It is time Nigerians! It is now or never. We can no longer take one step forward and two steps backwards. The day is come and the sun of understanding is risen. It is the hour of redefining who we are. It is a new dispensation and we must rid ourselves of all  the clog in the wheels of our motion as a people. We must clear the cobwebs out of our minds and we must begin to reason clearly. Poverty and ignorance are the two greatest diseases of the human race and Nigerians are not left out of it. While many nations and other societies have unshackled themselves by seizing the moment that was graciously offered by the heavens, Nigerians have remained in a state of comatose, desiring liberty at no price, mortgaging the future for present comforts.

It is time Nigerians, It is really now Nigerians or never again. It time to send a loud resounding message that the future is now in the making and the sour taste of the past can no longer be acceptable or considered in the light of the historical facts that is in the archives of our national consciousness.

Only the youths can take the future now and begin to write their own story. We are finished and done with the likes of Abubakar Atiku and Muhammadu Buhari or any of their generations in the future design of the nation we all would love to call Nigeria. I remember writing once and asking why Atiku could take his son's wedding to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and flew in all the invited guests to wash the land of the Arabs with our money, creating more jobs to the people who already had more than enough and spending millions of dollars in that singular senseless act all to tell Nigerians indirectly that the same country he aspired to rule in the future he does not believe in it. Who on earth who wants to rule his country would not first believe in his country and live it out before his people. Atiku Abubakar may have all the money in the world but he will NEVER rule Nigeria till the end of time.  How much does Atiku love Nigeria? He simply loves nothing but his personal empire.

On the other hand , there are those who tell us that Muhammadu Buhari is a principled no nonsense anti-corruption personality. They should go and say that to the birds or follow what the bread and butter media in Nigeria makes them believe. Let us face it my friends, is Buhari a saint when it comes to corruption? Why are we so gullible and can not reflect and rationalize especially when we are misinformed and misled by a well oiled machinery of manipulation of masses by the same established order that has entrenched itself deep in every facet of the system and of our daily lives. They seem to tell us when to go to bed and when to wake up. They tell us who to believe and who not to believe. They divide and rule us to our own misery and their own glorious comfort right before our faces. They turn us against one another, one tribe against another, one religion against another. They never gave to Nigerians a model vision or platform upon which every one irrespective of their background or upbringing, education or connection can still be fulfilled in their dreams. They never gave us a land where dreams can be fulfilled but rather a place where dreams simply lose their wings if not that God Almighty graciously endued Nigerians with the most resilient degree of the human spirit.
Again let it written and let it be loudly declared that Buhari will NEVER rule Nigeria till the end of time.
It is hard to all his sympathizers and followers to read or hear such but it is the simple truth and it makes no apologies to anyone.

I am one of those who in the first one and half years of Goodluck Jonathan's administration was very vocal and critical of his style. I made no apologies to him or to his supporters until events began to unfold clearly. We must lay the foundations of future generations now that was never laid by any of those who ever ruled the country before. We had no foundations! We were hurriedly granted statehood at no price at all and with no nationhood framework! This is the plight of the greatest and most populous black nation on earth!

Now we are at the major crossroads having weathered many storms and crossed many treacherous paths. We have survived the evil mob. We made it somehow we know not how or why, but here we are. We are not going back again to the past of bondage, wars , misery, divisions and poverty. The misrule of the oligarchy, the establishment or the ruling elites became the breeding ground for corruption whereby every one was desperate to have a piece of the cake at all costs and by any means necessary.

Atiku was a beneficiary of the establishment and Buhari can never be made to look like a saint or the so-called messiah that will cleanse the stable! Enough of the deception and lies! Enough of the hypocritical mass of vision-less and philandering political class who have offered my people nothing but misery and woes.

Time for a new beginning has come. We can not put new wines into old wine-skins. New wine must be put into new wine-skins! This is the time for a new promise and this is the beginning of the long awaited future dreams of all Nigerians. We are not going to ever look back to past tyrants and crooks in new garbs. If we have not learned our lessons now then when shall it ever once be?

The Oracles are with us, not the oracles of bread and butter. The Oracles of the Living Spirit are with us!

Let us take a break for now .....

Shalom

THE END GAME: BARACK H.OBAMA IS PART OF THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY!

These are messages and revelations that were given to me on this day the 9th of September, 2014. It was strange but yet very clear to those who will take the moment to reflect and seek the face of the One who owns and  governs the heavens and the earth. These are not my words and I can only be a faithful messenger to speak and publicize whatever is given to me.

The present President of the United States of America Barack Hussein Obama is part of the mystery of iniquity.

With the coming of Barack Obama, came the crashing of the restraining gates and the  release of  the children of lawlessness.

Consider this, Barack Obama rode on a global cloud of fame to become the President of the United States of America which is unprecedented in America's history.  He did excellently on the American economy but check how under his watch the world became a miasma of all sorts.

"And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.   For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.   And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness".  2Th 2:6 - 12

The agents and institutions that must be taken out of the way to pave the way for that final revelation and onslaught of lawlessness such as never seen since the beginning of the days of man on earth are the following.

Firstly the Church and the Jewish state of Israel as a sworn enemy of the Wicked One must be decimated or brought to her knees.

Secondly, Western democracies and civilization must be taken out of the way!

Thirdly, take down every law and lower the walls of restriction to the enthronement and legalization of immorality viz legalization of homosexuality in more nations than ever with heavy incentives, removal of the Bible from the military, free and state sponsored abortions etc.

The mystery of Iniquity is now on horseback racing against time - the mystery of iniquity is a global Janjaweed!!

Ever wondered why Barack Obama never bothered about ISIS or ISIL as he calls them and watched them as they rampaged and beheaded thousands of men, women and children for many months until the outcry in America with the beheading of one American citizen. It is clear by all his body language that there is a clear unwillingness and deception by whatever he does to stem the tide. Let not the world be fooled by the killing of Osama Bin Laden. It was already a CIA operation long in the making before his entry.

The loosening of the four angels which are bound in the great River Euphrates seems to indicate the Arab Spring and all attendant events thenceforth

"And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,  Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.  And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.  And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them".  Rev 9:13 - 16

Let whoever reads this take the time to reason, reflect and rationalize clearly and to come to understanding.

We must continue on our prayer watch by day and by night.

Shalom

- Apostle Dr Patrice Yehuda

That Seat is not for You!

Watching and listening to what is going on and what is being said left and right by those who know and by those who know not, I am compelled in my spirit to write this from my heart. As always I write from my heart and for the records both for time and for eternity. My stand must be crystal clear at all times because if there is anything we are otherwise minded the Sovereign Lord will reveal to us clearly.

This issue of a certain man of God falling or going through a major and terrible crisis should not be a cause of gladness or joy of vindication by those who seems to be somehow not his followers or in any way not impressed by his style of ministry. Let truth be told, there is absolutely nothing that will impress the children of men no matter how heavenly or how earthly it may appear. There will always be  mockers and scoffers, and those who love to celebrate  a fall. There will always be those who seek their own selfish vindication. This reminds me  of the great controversy that has raged for all the ages for those who will understand.

I am reminded of the scenario that occurred while I was growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord . There was then crisis in the local church ministry where I was raised . Every day the issue bothered on the senior Pastor did this or did that. Everyone was talking, some this way and some other way according to the angle of their viewing. After a few days of soaking in the stories I opened my mouth and uttered words like "why would Pastor do such a thing?". That was it my friends and the adversary had gotten me exactly where he wanted. That night I had a vision preparing me for the messenger the Lord was sending to me. The Lord will always show me when He is sending a Messenger to me. He sent messengers like Prophet Nathan to King David whenever He chose not to speak to him directly. The next day this elderly woman walked up to me after the evening service and pulled me somewhat aside from the crowd and said to me " the Lord said to tell you JUDGMENT WILL KILL YOU". I almost died on the spot as my mind flashed instantly to the event of the day before and how that night my sleep was troubled.  I went home and laid all night before the Lord in repentance. Since that day till date I purposed never to stand in the place of the judgement of any man of God no matter what the whole world may have to say or no matter their glaring errors I will rather look away. The seat of judgment was not meant for me. Angels judge not even themselves or the children of men.

On this side of eternity we will be full of many errors and weaknesses.  We all shall be tried and buffeted by the greatest adversary of our souls. None will be immune no matter his elevation or position. The higher you are the greater the trials and the fall.  Smite the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered. I have watched and observed that those who started preaching just yesterday seem to be the ones who think they know it all.

There is one thing I have come to know and that is that no matter what, every man's fiercest trial will not fail to come. Every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.  Your trial might be at the onset or beginning of your assignment, ministry, marriage, business etc.,  or at the middle or towards the latter stage or ending of it.  Whatever  comes to you in the beginning or middle stages you must overcome and whatever comes to you toward the latter stages you must endure to the end.

Like I have always said no one is better than the other and no one is worse than the other in any way. We are all in the battle and in the race to overcome the greatest adversary of our hopes and glory. We are all saved by grace and we all are under grace. It is only the ones who are not under grace that can judge. Make no mistakes about this lest you go quoting it to me. I know what you will say but here it is. We are to judge the world and angels but until then the seat is not meant for us here now. So please get off that seat!!!

Shalom

A GOOD WOMAN, A GOOD WIFE, A REWARD FROM ABOVE!

A GOOD WOMAN, A GOOD WIFE, A REWARD FROM ABOVE!

Like a gift from God and like a reward from the Almighty is a good woman.
She does you good all her days and wraps her arms around you like a shield against all that is contrary.
Be not carried away by beauty or gifts of man or matter.
She is not among the crowd or in the social hub
By the well she is
Ready to water your flocks and tend your garden
Her comforts are more than a mother's care
You do not have to break a leg pursuing her
For she knows her appearing is
Like the light of the morning,
When the sun rises, even a morning without clouds;
As the tender grass springing out of the earth
By clear shining after the rain.
And like a blessed fountain watering all your garden

Is there still left any Conscience?

Oh how mankind is losing its conscience very rapidly in this hour! Now we are seeing many variations and deviations of the truth of the gospel.  Our women and little children tortured and beheaded and the Church is not stirred. Every one seeks his own way and pleasure. What really is our quest and reason for living?

Oh Lord please keep me from missing the mark and following the maddening crowd.

Ebola: Oh Africa my Africa!

Ebola: Oh Africa my Africa!

Watching CNN news report on the Ebola crises especially in Liberia and Sierra Leone my heart is broken deeply at the terrible devastation of this plague. It is really a plague and not just like any thing ever seen. A plague that makes you turn and run away from your loved ones and regard them as if cursed. Now I wish that the African renaissance and brotherhood could rise up to the challenge seeing that Africa is left alone and abandoned.  Like Michael Jackson sang "they don't really care about us"! What strategic action has Africa and all its researchers done since the outbreak of this plague? Absolutely nothing to my knowledge.  African leaders are a shame and a failure. They lack vision and cohesion and can not see that one fallen nation is an index that they all stand no chance whatsoever should the calculus and seasons turn the other way around.  Oh Africa my Africa I weep for you! Why are you such a continent of untold woes and sorrows? Why are you cursed with  evil, selfish, wicked, mediocre and visionless leaders? Our fellow brethren are quarantined and left to die with no humanitarian aid supplies of any kind. Oh Africa, why can you not take up your own fight against a common plague?  Should not an injury to one be an injury to all? Who is gonna fight for us but ourselves? I saw the agonies and the pains of my brothers and sister in  Liberia and Sierra Leone and no one cares from North to South and from East to West.
Oh that God could bless me now. I want to establish a billion dollar African medical research facility to not compare but to exceed the finest that the West can boast of.  Two American citizens were infected and they were flown back to the USA at the same time a Nigerian doctor was battling for her life in Lagos. A British citizen was medically evacuated to London to be treated. The Liberian and the Nigerian doctor were left to die even when the Nigerian President pleaded that the same cocktail of treatment be released for the treatment of the Nigerian doctor. We are all alone here in Africa.
Africa, wake up an injury to one is an injury to all. I am not a Liberian nor a Sierra Leonean but I am an African. I am truly an African and I have travelled to more of this continent and seen the thread of our oneness. The curse of Africa is nothing but its political elite and leaders. Oh God please be merciful to my Africa and heal it of this plague. Oh Lord please save my people in Africa and send to Africa a Moses and a Joshua for such a time as this.

I declare by the Living God that Africa is not the continent of the expendables!  We are each worth the value of any human created on the face of this earth

Oh Africa, my Africa!

PROPHETIC VISION: ISIS SOON TO OVERRUN WESTERN CITIES

I have never ceased to declare that which the Lord God is revealing in this hour to nations and leaders. The records and evidences are there for every one who doubts to judge for himself or herself. This vision of 24th August,  2014 is for those of them among the leaders of the West who has ears to hear and to find a moment to seek counsel from the Ancient of Days.
I saw and beheld as ISIS in a blitzkrieg took over the cities of the Western world - before the world could wake up and know what is going on. They took countless captives everywhere - children, women and the defenceless.  There was no way to escape as confusion reigned everywhere. Chaos in the cities of the West. People were violently separated from their loved ones. ISIS snipers had taken over all rooftops - reign of confusion and fear as men, women and children were herded mercilessly like animals for slaughter and uncertainty.
This vision left me for hours in a state of weakness and deep reflections and it is clear that the Nations of the West seems to be cast into a deep sleep now by the lawless and Wicked One of darkness.
Let them who will hear take heed while there is still time.

NIGERIA: The Crumbling of the Kaduna Mafia

The vision of 15th August 2014 came around 09.20am in broad daylight.

In the vision, the Lord showed  me some elements in Kaduna (Kaduna mafia) who are very restless and not comfortable but grumbling and complaining bitterly that none of their course mates are anywhere in the political landscape for the coming elections.

In the visions they put out serious charges to castigate the person of the man at the helm. I ended up having a very heated exchange of words with their leader and spokesman in the vision..........It seems to me in the vision that this establishment as they could be labelled are in a do or die and now or never state of desperation.

Nigerians must pray against every satanic clique of domination and control that refuses to let Nigeria and Nigerians breathe some fresh air of deliverance from their clutches.

The heavens are watching and so are the watchmen on the walls!

Shalom

Of Empty Validity

"Here on earth I seek no validity. My validity is in heaven and that is all that matters to me not what any mortal may think or assume in this passing and fading realm of emptiness.

Believe me when I say this, everyone has faults and this is not the abode of the perfect or perfection.
The Lord spoke a word that is still burning in my heart. He said "are your stones as the stars of the curtains". No need for me to break this down for you. Drop your stones and leave it all till that final day.

Whatever we call our best or the best is simply yet nothing compared to the measuring reed of heaven. I f you are seeking your validity here among men, seek them no more my friends. I would long have been finished if my testimony were to be found among men and on this realm. I seek nothing but the testimony that shall come from the Lord Jesus Christ before the Father on my behalf" "

NIGERIA: The Janjaweed Establishment, the Crown and the Seat!

In the vision of the Lord given on 12 August, 2014, what I beheld was monstrously striking and bewildering to say the least. I was brought into the center of the picture to behold the bullish  arrogance and beastly nature of the Establishment who seemed deceived into believing that they are the paramount owners of Nigeria, its land and its resources and therefore its Kingmakers. The Lord said to tell them this:

"the Crown and the throne has been taken away by Him who gives the Crown and appoints thrones upon the earth. Every throne on earth is the Lord's and He is the governor among the nations"

I see in the vision that PGEJ is about to make a lousy mistake. He needs lots of prayers and godly counsel that he must do well to take heed to. He must not concede a foothold or compromise or seek to appease the godless and avaricious ones who will never be satiated no matter what.

THE SEPARATION AND PREPARATION HOUR IS UPON THE WORLD NOW!

THE SEPARATION AND PREPARATION HOUR IS UPON THE WORLD NOW!

"I see the angels of God from one end of the earth to the other separating the children of men and setting them to their lot in this hour. Those for death, those for hunger, those for violence of the sword, those for casting to the agitating elements and those appointed to various determinations. The message is clear - the hour of separation and preparation is upon the world now!"

There was the third month -3
Then there was the seventh month - 7
There shall also be the zero hour of all things! - 0

Justice Oputa's Burial: A Sepulcher of Hypocrites and Sycophants

Justice Oputa's Burial: A Sepulcher of Hypocrites and Sycophants

From New York to London, Sweden to Helsinki, India to China, the trending topic was how "CharlyBoy snatched the microphone from Rochas Okorocha, the Governor of the state of Imo".
Comments flying in different directions about what happened, the people involved, the controversies, the virgins...Kai.

People ask why CharlyBoy is who he is. Why have two days of musical concerts after the death of his iconic father? Why argue or fight a sitting governor – doesn’t he fear the veto venom of a man in power? Why walk around with 6 feet tall, provocatively clad girls wearing bizarre wigs in public, even in the presence of God, his wife and the dearly departed? For some reason, the last one elicits more provocation than most questions about my dear alter ego, CharlyBoy.
Funny how envy, anger, timidity, mongopark mentality, hypocrisy and sycophancy have crippled the minds of many of my brothers and sisters. Oh my God!

A lot of people in Nigeria live in fear and express it through anger, jealousy and spite – everything acceptable; than actually having the courage to face that fear and be the person they really were made to be. Me I no send. The CharlyBoy brand is me doing my job well – it’s an image, a character invented to shake monotonous minds from their daily doldrums and pull them away from the comforts of the familiar, just for a while. All we have seen from pictures and videos from the weeklong event is more than enough to stir excitement and controversy – good and bad.
Let me warn: those who are easily shocked should be prepared to be shocked even more and more often.

I have been called everything from a cheap publicity monger to a cult leader. Those "Charlys Virgins" whose tests are yet to be confirmed have been identified by busybodies as my grand-daughters, spiritual wives, satan’s handmaidens. Hummmmmm! Big deal. I have always known that  insecure people put up boundaries but confident ones tear them down. Spiritual people have church picnics.
The kind of ass-licking and shit-eating that goes on in Imo State is for lack of a better word, infuriating and obnoxious. Chai there is Godooooo.

How did the Day of Tributes organised by the Imo State Government on behalf of the great Justice Oputa turn into a political campaign front and a seminar in ass-kissing? Why would anyone expect me to sit down and listen to politicians begging for goodwill from the governor while using the memory of my late father as an opportunity? What an insult on his name! God punish them die. The Imo State government has no shame anymore,  the sycophants and megalomaniacs calling themselves leaders whose pictures litter every street corner and roundabout in Owerri begging for a second try at doing nothing who exchange naira for loyalty. Claps in the Church of God is not what would get you  re-elected, my brother Rochas, bear that in mind.

The interesting thing about all  this is that the people, the ordinary men and women that Imo government is supposed to, yet refuses to  serve, are the ones hailing the AreaFada, why? Could it be that the poverty-stricken Imolites are hailing The AreaFada because they feel battered by the mental rape committed against them by their leaders and yet, are afraid and feel powerless to defend themselves, to fight back? I am especially referring to the men and women of Oguta who are not just powerless, timid and foolishly arrogant but refuse to seek any control of their lives from the government. They just sit there and survive, suffering and smiling sheepishly.
How can an entire town, the Blue Lake city, go without electricity for good six years and not do or say anything about it? Not six days or six months, but SIX YEARS!! After all the promises that Rochas gave of giving Oguta electricity for a few days for the Justice Oputa funeral, we did not see even a flash of electricity.

These my home-town people, in my opinion, are polluted and disillusioned by their false arrogance from being well positioned in the 1930s and 40s when they traded with the white man, when they had UAC and John Holt and did good business better than the people in the hinterland. Those were the good old days, gone with the wind. Even as an oil producing community, what do they have to show for it? Politically, they are wanting, socially they are timid; many of them inundated by fear and poverty. They may have thought themselves to be something six decades ago, but are nowhere politically in this decade, not even one Imo State cabinet member is from Oguta. Tufiakwa!

I am sure that this was one of the reasons some cousins of mine decided to go looking for Rochas Okorocha to beg for forgiveness on my behalf. Who send them? That's how they got to Imo State government house without seeing the governor. After the governor's aids sized them up, they concluded that they were only a hungry bunch of PIRATED Oputas. Shebi, they came back with their tail between their legs, shameless souls! Desperate mongrels looking for a piece of leftover rotten flesh wherever they could hound. Their plans failed, woefully. People who swallow pain killer for someone else' headache! Can you imagine, apologise for what?
Truth be told, I come from a good pedigree, trained by a great man. I know the law and can't be caught dead breaking it. Upon all my ruggedness, there was no way, I, Charles Oputa, would have snatched a microphone from someone speaking no matter how much I hate what the person does. I get sense, am cultured  and I went to one of the best universities in the world. I am not a riffraff, neither am I a gutter ass like some of these so called leaders.
At the very least I’m honest about my identity (CharlyBoy), proud about my upbringing and courageous in the face of crippling doubt about my brand. I am however confident in the fact that I’m doing one thing many will never accomplish in their short time on earth: leaving a legacy, just like my father did. So park well.

There is a method to my madness only understood by deep thinkers, not sycophants and bootlickers. The difference between my darkness and yours is that I can stare my own badness in the face and accept its existence while you are busy covering your mirror with white linen sheet. The difference between my sins and yours is that when I sin I know I'm sinning while you have actually fallen prey to your own fabricated illusions.

If it makes people feel good calling me a devil worshipper and a thug, when the very great Justice Oputa trained me and finally doffed his hat for me and decided to preach the gospel of Charlyboyisim before he died, mere mortals can go hug a transformer. I have a name that is knock on wood. Anything you say, for your pocket.
I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them otherwise, I break them. I am free because I know that I, alone, am morally responsible for everything I do. It's discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and a few by deceit.

Instead of wallowing in the bile of hypocrisy and envy, why don’t we search ourselves and consider the deeper actions beneath all the pomp and pageantry twisted and manipulated by the media? Is that prickly sensation in your heart righteous indignation over the Oputa Funeral, or just mere heartburn?
Check yourself – hypocrisy doesn't just wound, it kills permanently.

PROPHETIC VISION JULY 11, 2014 - TIME IS SHORT NOW!

The visions that the Lord granted me this early morning was very sobering to say the least.

In the vision the Lord revealed that the time is too short to be playing religion.
Then I saw terrifying images in the heaven above - visions of the images and painting of Christ turning into images of concealed idolatry. The Lord revealed that many are adoring and reverencing picturesque images of Jesus which has become a form of concealed idolatry.

Deu 4:15 - 19
Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:  Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,  The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:  And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

The Lord also sent his word that we must never let love depart from our hearts no matter the provocation, pain or grief.

1Jn 3:11- 15  For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.  Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.  Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.  We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.  Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

Time is really short indeed and let him that has ears to hear let him hearken!

Shalom

NIGERIA: THE DEATH OF CONSCIENCE - Pat Utomi

The death of conscience - Pat Utomi

It used to be said that a conscience can become seared. As I watched a country carry on after more than 200 young women were abducted by anarchists who use terror as their signature tune and the powerful carried on as if nothing was troubling, and most of us as if it were a distant irritation, I felt rage in my spirit and a sense that in Nigeria, man’s humanity had been crushed and conscience had passed from being seared to suffering death.
To reflect on the death of conscience is a grave thing. As conscience is the inbuilt compass that enables the human navigate between good and evil, if it dies, I wonder if we can truly call who is left, human. Yet, as you look around, you see conscience in a frightening state. How can so many young people face a fate worse than terror attack and the institutions of state function as if nothing happened?
Much has already been said about the President celebrating and dancing in Kano and Ibadan the day after the first Nyanya bombing left nearly a hundred citizens dead and so many more severely injured. Many have compared Aso Rock’s response to that bombing with the response of The White House to the Boston Marathon bombing in which three lives were lost. Those comparisons lead me to recall a similar incident I commented about several years earlier.
In the same week that a cable car accident in Austria resulted in three deaths, a tanker truck crashed into a traffic jam created by a roadblock near Ibadan caused more than 200 deaths. Austria went into national mourning, flags flew at half mast, broadcasts appealed to the national spirit.
In Nigeria, the President, Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, did not even bother to ask the media officer in the Villa to issue a statement. I asked at the time what a Nigerian life was worth. But we know that the Federal Executive Council can suspend sitting if a sibling of the Vice-President dies. Is it a matter of relativising the worth of people?
My friends who teach ethics will tell you that once you relativise the worth of another, you have made your own worth relative. This is precisely why people in power are worshipped and the day after, they are out of power, are treated like dirt by those people who the day before said they were the greatest thing since sliced bread.
The truth of the challenge of saving the dying conscience in Nigeria, it seems to me, has to begin with enlightenment on our shared humanity. The death of anyone should, as the great quote goes, diminish us. The death of so many should crush our spirits and inspire action. The abduction of so many innocents unto so uncertain a fate should force us all to lose sleep.
Instead of leaders closing ranks in advance of the common good, everything is reduced to partisanship and some are even questioning that the abduction took place as some people question that the holocaust took place. This cannot be our way.
Again, it is important for those who think it is something happening to one remote part of the North-East to be reminded of Rev. Martin Niemoller and Dante’s inferno.
Niemoller reminds that they first came for the Jews, and the object kept quiet. Because those Jews were troublesome anyway. Next, they came for communists but he stayed mute because he was not a Communist, then they came for the Catholics but he kept quiet because he was a protestant. When they came for him, there was no one left to speak up.
To this I would like to remind that in Dante’s inferno, the hottest part of hell is reserved for those who in a moral question take refuge in neutrality.
We cannot go on with consciences that leave much to question. We saw a country cheer on as power raped the banking system, stealing people’s property and ordinary Nigerian shareholders lost their life’s savings and investments but we failed to speak up. Those that tried to point to truth were shouted down. Now, the wound is open.
When I called for international consultants to be used to evaluate the Central Bank of Nigeria’s decisions on bank takeover, some said sour grapes. Now, let us go to the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and see what documents they can find in the CBN after the gang rape of an economy we cheered.
If the conscience can be shut out in one area, it can be everywhere.
Beyond the CBN, this syndrome of impunity, no matter how much it makes others suffer, has become widespread in Nigeria and the daily killing and maiming of innocent people have simply become part of this recession of conscience evident in corruption whose consequence is the slow death of many but which is now systemic and some see as an entitlement. The seared conscience prevents us from seeing the real consequence of the bribes we demand.
The nature of this dying conscience comes alive in what has happened to the missing Chibok girls’ story which we have to close with.
Imagine for a second that one of those girls were your daughter or sister. Think what you will be feeling and thinking now. Think also of how if we fail to nip one social problem in the bud it quickly becomes a norm. Remember how kidnapping started in the Niger Delta.
Today, the South-East is sliding back because its sons and daughters are afraid to visit. So, Boko Haram is not a North-East problem. It can be the death of all of us.
Until we act together from an awakening of conscience, we may be sub-optimising big time in thinking we are being self-centred. In front of us is an intersection. We can either walk the road to Somalia or pour cold water on our snoring consciences.

CALLED TO LOVE FOR LIFE

"CALLED TO LOVE FOR LIFE"! ~ OEV

He has let me down. He has hurt my feelings. He has left me hanging. He has ignored me. He has walked out on me. He has raised his voice at me. He has hung up on me. He has allowed my tears to fall. He has done things that were uncalled for. But at the end of the day, THAT’S MY MAN! The man God blessed ME with! You may ask, “How in the world can you love a man like that? A man who’s done those things to you”? And my answer will ALWAYS be the same. “Because I am CALLED to love him, even when he is unlovable”! And guess what? It takes CHRIST to love a man who has hurt you in what God called and made HONORABLE!
I did not marry to stay in the marriage for only the good times. I married to stay married FOR LIFE! I married to honor God and not fall anymore into sexual sin with the man I gave my heart to. I married to make beautiful babies with the man who’s called to cover me for life. I married because in spite of his flaws, I love my man! You know, the imperfect man God blessed me with but he's perfect for me.
I can’t just love my husband when he is good to me. Oh no, that is too easy. I can’t just love my husband after mind blowing sex. Oh no, that’s even easier. I can’t just love my husband when he’s putting money in my hands to do what I want with. Now that’s easy as pie! No I must also love him even when he is at his worse because I vowed before man and God to do so! And I am a firm believer that you do reap what you sow. How do I know this? OK let me share!
That same man who has let me down has been dependable. That same man who has hurt my feelings has repented and made things right. That same man who has left me hanging has come back and caught me in the spirit when I was spiritually falling. That same man who has ignored me has given me his undivided attention while I was pouring my heart out to him for hours. That same man who walked out on me has been by my side when I was at my worst. That same man who raised his voice at me is the same man who whispered sweet “somethings” into my ear. That same man who hung up on me a few times in the past, answers my every call. That same man who allowed my tears to fall has wiped them before my tears finished forming. (Oh yes he did)! That same man who has done things uncalled for has done things above what I asked of him. My point?
Marriage is a lot of things, but one thing it is not is EASY! Marriage God’s way is the training ground for the mission field for those who are married (We will talk more about this at a later date). Contrary to popular belief, we do get hurt in marriage. We do have to administer grace and mercy to our spouses in marriage. We do have to repent and forgive in marriage. We do have to apologize and reconcile in marriage. Not just in my marriage but EVERY marriage done God’s way. Why is that? Because marriage God’s way is where you have an imperfect man and an imperfect woman who are both being perfected DAILY through Christ! So, if that husband and wife are BOTH being perfected, what makes ANYONE think there won’t be hard times in marriage? What make anyone think a believing husband or a believing wife won’t mess up? What makes anyone think that Christian couples are supposed to be PERFECT? What makes anyone think that born again believing couples will NEVER have to fight for their marriage? What makes anyone think a Godly couple will not have to battle their flesh? Please let’s be real! Just because many or even MOST couples don’t or won’t share their inner marital battles does not mean that there aren't any battles! Just because many couples pretend that all is always well does not mean that all is always well. Listen, marriage may be private but the testimony on how couples make it through is to be shared to encourage those who need it. God must be glorified, not just in how he’s blessed us with money and with things but also how he’s brought us out of adultery, pornography, masturbation, lying, constant fighting and more. You know…all those things Godly couples “NEVER” do!
The point of this post is Singles, please don’t look at all the weddings of others and only daydream of all the beautiful days of marriage without understanding that there WILL be days that are not so beautiful. Married couples, please don’t look at your marriage as hopeless just because you and your spouse have seemingly failed in so many areas of your marriage. There have been some ugly days in my own marriage. I’m just being real, but the scripture I harp on is how He made ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL IN HIS TIME! Yes HIS TIME! And if He made things beautiful, that must mean there are some UGLY things that had to be made beautiful right? But just because God will do His part does not mean we don't do our part and work on our marriage. It just means while we are working, it may not look so good right now, but we must keep working and eventually we will see the results we are working for!
If you take anything from this post, please take away this; when you say “I Do” or “I Will” that means you are answering a call to LOVE YOUR SPOUSE FOR LIFE! Not a call to “love your spouse for now” or a call to “love your spouse only during the good times” but to love them “FOR BETTER or FOR WORSE”! There’s so many things that can go under the “FOR WORSE” part just as there are so many things that can go under the “FOR BETTER” part. But understand that marriage is to be FOR LIFE, so you are CALLED TO LOVE your wife or husband FOR LIFE!
Never let the letdowns and mishaps of your spouse cause you to hate them. Instead use those moments to love them like you've never loved them before! In other words, if you love them at their worse, you will find yourself loving them more and more at their best! I know many are reading saying, “I can’t do this” and I’m here to tell you, you are right. YOU cannot do this. Not through your own flesh but, you CAN do this THROUGH CHRIST!
So for many of you who are going through in your marriage, KEEP WORKING and you will see what was once so beautiful on your wedding day is even more beautiful now; even with all the battle scars you and your spouse have accumulated over time. Understand that even though there will be hard times in marriage; and even though you will have to extend mercy, grace and forgiveness to your spouse for their wrongs against you, you were CALLED TO LOVE FOR LIFE!
1 Cor 7:28b (NIV), “…But those who marry will face many troubles in this life…”
But God is always with us, all we (we as in husband and wife) have to do is OBEY and He will work everything out!
Eccl 3:11, “He hath made every thing beautiful in His time…”
Notice it does not say He WILL make but HE HAS MADE. In other words, you and your spouse may be facing problems in your marriage today but God has already worked it out. All you have to do is heed to His Spirit and His Word on what YOU need to do, then you will see the BEAUTIFUL He already made in HIS TIME!
Mark 10:9 (NASB), "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate". ‪#‎CalledToLoveForLife‬
Please share this with as MANY as you can as you never know who it will help! Thanks Fam!

PROPHECY: THE COMING ERA OF LAWLESSNESS

PROPHETIC VISION OF 1ST JULY, 2014:

The Spirit of the Lord spoke clearly to me this morning and this is a message to all who have ears to hear what He the Eternal Spirit is saying in this hour.
In the dawning of the day the Lord spoke clearly that "the fear of the Lord is gradually eroding away from the world to pave way for absolute lawlessness which will reign for a season that is appointed to it. He also revealed that the season will be for a period of seven times. Let him that has wisdom understand this"

Let it be known also that the world is gradually moving into an era of anarchy, chaos, upheavals, lawlessness, wholesale violence and wickedness, bloodletting such as never seen since the days of man on the earth.

 "Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:

That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:

That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid."  - Isaiah 44 : 24 - 28

NIGERIA: UNITY IS SWEET IN JUSTICE AND EQUITY

UNITY IS SWEET IN JUSTICE AND EQUITY!

Nigeria: the only place under the sun where the minority rose from the desert to become the majority, where the minority swore to rule the majority by force and to make the country ungovernable should anyone not from their established minority ascends to power. it is all because we all became intimidated and cowed not to speak or awake to any consciousness of our dilemma. How long will this status quo remain?

Why are they bombing our malls, abducting our christian girls by force, taking over communities and villages stealthily? Who on earth is not aware that there is an ethnic cleansing going on in the north of Nigeria as we speak now? Why is no one raising an alarm? Why would Kano state governor come out and boldly telling the world the lie that a Christian president is oppressing the Muslims of the North? Absolute ethno-religious jingoism!

It is time to redefine the country for the benefit of all and sundry. it is enough. The feudal north must kiss power goodbye for another decade and more. If Nigeria belongs to us all, then it is time to restructure every facet of the skewed and lopsided platform and framework of what we have called Nigeria. Nigeria has never worked with all this framework since inception and we can not keep at a faulty framework that has brought war, corruption, nepotism, misery, violence, abject poverty on the teeming millions of our people. But if it be that Nigeria does not belong to us all, then who feel that Nigeria is theirs should take it to themselves and leave us to what is our divine heritage from the One who made the heavens and the earth and appointed to us our boundaries.

We are not going to give one inch of our divine heritage to the ones who savagely massacre us and plunder our heritage before our eyes.We will not let intrigues and manipulations, ethno-religious jingoism, mobocracy, nepotism and corruption ruin and dismantle our collective and individual destinies.

They are telling us that unless they are the ones ruling, we all will not know any peace. They are telling us that it is their birthright to rule us till we all go to our graves with nothing to show for it. They are telling us that we and our children are their inherited possessions. They are telling us that all our resources and our oil blocks are their booties.

They are telling us that the sparsely populated savanna and desert-land has more inhabitants than the thick rich tropical rain forest. They are telling us they have all the rights to kill as many of us as they can and their is nothing we can do about it. They are telling us that they are the sacred cows and we are the sacrificial lambs! We have been through this and seen this play over and over for the past fifty years of mock nationhood. Nigerians deserve better now. Nigerians have no business with poverty. Nigerians have done nothing to deserve being massacred on a daily basis in their dozens alongside their aged and sucklings!

When are we going to wake up from this nightmare and stand up for our rights and defend our liberties.Unity is sweet in justice and equity and therein does peace and prosperity find its perfect rhythm to blossom.

Let us restructure the system and redefine the land of our birth. Let us take back our country now from the mob and their cohorts. They systematically pauperized us all in a land of plenty.

O God whom I serve from my mothers womb and who did ordain me to stand in the office I stand, arise and take back your throne and raise up the men and women who have understanding in such a time as this for this great nation!

Arise O compatriots!

Shalom

NIGERIA: The future of this enclave - Chido Onumah

Nigeria’s celebrated novelist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, is an interviewer’s delight, whether she is talking about Nigeria, novels, feminism or hair. A few weeks ago, she was a guest of Stephen Sackur’s HARDtalk on the British Broadcasting Corporation where she talked about Biafra, ethnicity in Nigeria, the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War and the censorship of the movie version of her novel about the civil war, Half of a Yellow Sun.
“Nigeria as a country has never really engaged with Biafra,” Adichie said in response to Sackur’s question about whether today’s Nigerians had learnt enough about the important lessons of the war. “There is a lot that is unresolved about that period of our history.”
I agree with Adichie. Nigeria has not engaged with Biafra and there is a lot that is still unresolved about the civil war. But it’s not just Biafra and that tumultuous period of our history. There is a lot that is unresolved about Nigeria as a whole and many aspects of our existence as a country. Nigeria has not engaged with June 12, just as we have not engaged with Boko Haram, to mention only two of the more recent episodic convulsions that threaten the very foundation of the country.
In a sense, the Biafra experience could be a metaphor for the many unresolved problems that confront us as a country, whether we are talking about agitations by minority ethnic nationalities, the upsurge in militancy across the country, the quest for the balkanisation of the country by fringe groups that go by all sorts of absurd names or the infernal resolve of a group to impose a religious code on an otherwise secular country.
“How should we make sense of Nigeria’s 21st century identity?” Sackur had asked in the introduction to his programme. Interestingly, around the time of that interview, there were rallies, amongst other troubling occurrences in Nigeria, in London and a few cities around the world in support of the Biafra renaissance.
A week earlier, some Biafra protagonists were arrested after a failed attempt to take over a radio station in Enugu and declare, or perhaps revive, the Republic of Biafra. It was in the same city that pro-Biafra “forces” were arrested for a daring attempt to take over the Enugu State Government House. Enugu was the first and one of the three capitals of Biafra while the secession lasted.
How do we make sense of all this? There are those who think that what we are witnessing is a necessary and passing phase in the attempt to build a nation. It may well be! But, it may also spell doom for a country that has had more than five decades to forge a “perfect union”, but has squandered each opportunity.
Clearly, as a country, we haven’t learnt anything about the regrettable civil war of 1967-1970 or the other tragic events that occurred before that war. We have also not learnt from the dreadful upheavals that have taken place after the war; events that have shaken the very foundations of our existence as a country.
Nigeria will disintegrate unless we collectively do something about it. Nations are not built on mere wishful thinking. No country that is run the way Nigeria is being run survives for too long. The hard truth is that there is nothing sacrosanct about Nigeria. A nation is neither an eternal nor a divinely ordained construct as is often delusively proclaimed, in the case of Nigeria, by our exceptionally depraved ruling class and their sympathisers. It comes into being at a historical juncture – through a combination of factors and forces – and can cease to be by the same logic.
Nigeria was an arbitrary creation of British colonialists who coupled disparate ethnic nationalities for economic and other reasons. Of course, many countries around the world were created through the same process and for the same reasons. The problem in the case of Nigeria, however, was that there were no attempts, at independence and subsequently, by Nigerians, the new inheritors of the contraption the British left behind, to remake the country in the image of a people who had broken the shackles of colonialism and had to build an egalitarian society; a nation of equity, social justice, the rule of law and all the fundamentals of a modern state.
How then do we move forward from the boiling cauldron – the outcome of a forced and dubious amalgam of different ethnicities, religions and cultural beliefs – to a nation of equal opportunity, shared vision and common future when we fail to learn from our history and allow primordial interests and short-term gains to stand in the way of a collective need for national survival?
Just as the colonialists intended, we have managed never to miss an opportunity to highlight the fault lines that have kept us perpetually at war with one another. And just like the colonialists, our rapacious and thieving ruling class, military and civilian, from across the country – emphasising our fault lines – have succeeded in not only misruling us but also dividing us.
Take the simple and harmless matter of honouring the winner of the June 12, 1993, presidential election, Chief M.K.O. Abiola, by the ongoing National Conference. That election was wickedly annulled by Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, colluding with some of the vile creatures who today are the drivers of our so-called democracy. Babangida and company have yet to explain the reason for that criminal complicity.
That election showed that Nigerians could rise above ethnic and religious divisions given a purposeful and selfless leadership. Of course, it also showed that Nigeria’s ruling elite are not interested in the unity of this country beyond what they can get from it; never mind that they are always proclaiming that: “The unity of Nigeria is not negotiable.”
June 12, 2014, marked the 21st anniversary of that election. Sadly, when a motion, seeking to pay tribute and give national recognition to Abiola and hundreds of Nigerians who died protesting the annulment, was moved at the National Conference by Orok Duke from Cross River State, delegates were reportedly “divided along regional lines as those from southern Nigeria favoured the motion while those from the North rejected it”. And this fierce rejection of a legitimate quest for justice is recorded in a 21st century Nigeria; ironically, in a gathering consecrated to banish inequity and injustice and the multiple handmaids of Nigeria’s stillbirth.
This was an election in which the masses of the “North” ensured that Abiola from Ogun State in “southern Nigeria” beat his opponent, Alhaji Bashir Tofa from Kano State in “northern Nigeria”; an election in which Abiola and his running mate, Babagana Kingibe, both Muslims, won across the length and breadth of the country.
It is heartbreaking that a representative of the civil society at the National Conference that aims to address the many flashpoints of our distorted nationhood, Mallam Nasir Kura, from Kano State, was reported to have led the chorus of voices from the “North” that opposed any attempt to remember June 12, Abiola and Nigerians from all walks of life who paid the supreme sacrifice during that upheaval. For Kura and company, June 12, like its unfortunate victims, is “dead and buried”.
Make no mistake, while that rowdy session over honouring Abiola which attracted the attention of security operatives and was going to turn the confab into a WWE arena may have looked like an attempt to promote an “ethnic agenda”, accusing people of being ethnic jingoists for that action does not tell the whole story. After all, Olusegun Obasanjo, former president, chief beneficiary of the June 12 debacle and Abiola’s kinsman was – until his recent conversion, like Paul on his way to Damascus – one of the most trenchant traducers of Abiola and June 12.
